Assembled Steel Plate Silos
Assembled steel plate silos are constructed on-site by bolting together hot-dip galvanized corrugated steel plates. They feature standardized, interchangeable components. Lightweight and requiring no large foundations, they offer rapid installation-typically completed within 3-7 days-and can be dismantled and relocated, making them ideal for leased sites. However, their relatively poor airtightness necessitates reinforcement with silicone caulking, rendering them best suited for storing grains and granular materials (e.g., corn, soybeans). Individual silo capacity generally does not exceed 3,000 tons.
Spiral-Seam Steel Silos
Spiral steel silos are formed by continuously cold-bending steel plates into a double-layer spiral-rolled structure using specialized equipment. They offer exceptional airtightness and seismic resistance with relatively short construction cycles. They are particularly suitable for storing powdered materials (e.g., cement, fly ash) and liquid materials (e.g., water, edible oil), with capacities generally not exceeding 5,000 tons. Note that spiral steel silos are non-demountable and involve higher material costs.
Welded Steel Silos
Welded steel silos are fabricated on-site through steel plate welding, enabling custom designs for ultra-large capacities-ranging from 10,000 to 100,000 tons per silo. They withstand harsh environments with optimal airtightness, support smart temperature/humidity monitoring systems, and allow insulation layer installation, making them ideal for sensitive materials. However, construction takes approximately three months, and regular anti-corrosion maintenance is required.
