A spiral steel silo (or Lipp silo) is a high-strength storage tank constructed by automatically coiling and welding galvanized steel strips into a continuous spiral, interlocking seam. Primarily used for grain, cement, and powder, these silos are constructed on-site with superior sealing, quick assembly, and long-term corrosion resistance.

Product advantages
Integral Intensity and Long Life
While constructing, feed the coil sheet with certain width into the profiling station, making an confined encircling spiral protruding strip of 30-40mm in width around the silo body. The thickness of the strip is five times thicker than the basic coil sheet, strengthen the silo body in load-bearing capacity, also strengthen the silo in the structure.
Good Gas-tightness
The spiral folded edge is of five-layer spiral steel plates with seal gum embedded into spiral crimping seams which ensures excellent silo gas-tightness. The spiral folded silo can store granular, powder material, also meet the requirements of fumigation and deinsectization.
Low Expenses
As the silo is manufactured full auto by the special equipment which runs at speed of 300m/h, the construction of the silo is very fast, and investment returns fast.
Economizing on Space
The silo height and diameter is optional with a wide range. The distance between two silos can be minimized to 500mm to make the most of available space and reduce area occupancy. The silo is only 1/6 times of the concrete silo with the same capacity, largely reduce the base structural load and cost.
Unlike traditional segmented prefabricated steel silos, spiral folded steel silo do not have numerous bolted connection points. Instead, they are integrally formed through a continuous spiral rolling structure.

Manufacturing and Installation Process
First, all silo manufacturing equipment is transported to the construction site. The continuous bending and seaming of the galvanized coil are then completed through the processes of uncoiling, forming, undercutting, pushing, and lifting, to construct the silo sidewall.
During construction, 495 mm wide coil plates are fed from the uncoiler into the forming machine to achieve the required shape. They are then bent and seamed by the undercutting machine, forming a continuous helical rib with a width of 30–40 mm on the outer surface of the silo sidewall.
In this process, the coil plates rise spirally to form the silo sidewall, driven by multiple running racks and lifting wheels. During the later stages of sidewall formation, vertical stiffeners are installed along the inner wall to provide structural support.
When the sidewall reaches a height of approximately 1 meter, the silo roof is installed. Once the sidewall reaches the designed height, the entire steel silo is secured to the foundation.
