Biogas Digester

The biogas digester (also known as an anaerobic digestion tank) serves as the core equipment in biomass anaerobic fermentation systems for biogas production. It is specifically designed to facilitate the reaction between organic materials and anaerobic microorganisms within a sealed, oxygen-deprived environment, thereby generating biogas. This equipment features sealing, pressure resistance, corrosion resistance, and high efficiency.

  • Core Materials: Primarily carbon steel with anti-corrosion coatings (epoxy coal tar, polyurethane), offering moderate cost and resistance to organic acid corrosion during fermentation. For large tanks or highly corrosive conditions (e.g., processing high-sulfur materials), 304/316L stainless steel is selected for superior corrosion resistance. Some smaller tanks utilize fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP), offering lightweight strength and corrosion resistance, suitable for rural or small-scale projects.
  • Core Operating Principle: In a sealed, oxygen-deprived environment, organic materials (straw, food waste, livestock manure, etc.) undergo staged decomposition by anaerobic microorganisms (acidogenic bacteria, methanogenic bacteria). They are first converted into organic acids, then further transformed into methane (the primary biogas component, accounting for 55%-70%) and carbon dioxide. Fermentation temperatures are categorized as mesophilic (35±2°C) and thermophilic (55±2°C). Mesophilic tanks offer stable operation and low energy consumption, while thermophilic tanks deliver high processing efficiency and superior sterilization.
  • Core Industry Value: Transforming organic waste into biogas (a clean energy source for power generation, heating, and cooking) to achieve resource recycling; utilizing digested sludge as organic fertilizer to improve soil quality; and employing sealed processing to minimize odor dispersion and environmental pollution. This approach aligns with carbon neutrality goals and environmental policies, advancing green and low-carbon development.
